Tell me about the impact The Bettering Branch has made

Since 2024, The Bettering Branch has mobilised over 700 youth volunteers across 70+ partners, schools, and collaborators, collectively serving 200+ hours and directly impacting 2,000+ beneficiaries. These include 100+ children aged 7–12, 400+ seniors, 250+ migrant workers and community members, and 100+ special needs individuals. Through their programs, they've reached 600+ participants via health and sustainability initiatives, 250+ youths through YOUTH4YOUTH advocacy talks, 150+ individuals through climate education events, and 100+ at-risk individuals through social service outreach. They also raised $2,532 for SHINE Children & Youth Services and garnered 700,000+ views on Instagram. Their flagship Recycle Red! campaign has collected 428,000+ red packets, diverting 1,286 kg of waste and preventing 1,500+ kg of CO2 emissions, while reaching 100,000+ students across 30 secondary schools, junior colleges, and polytechnics islandwide.

What is The Bettering Branch?

The Bettering Branch is a Singapore-based ground up youth-led non-profit founded by Raean Cheong alongside Cofounders Alina Khan and Carissa Sim focused on empowering youths with empathy through connection, education and service. We do this one branch at a time with our 3 branches of impact: Planet, People & Advocacy. All built from the ground up with no initial funding, institutional support or nepotism.
